It has had enough cinnamon and cloves for a week or two! Incidentally, I’ve also had enough turkey and ham to last for quite some time too. I did go so far as to threaten to leave himself if he made dinner involving any kind of turkey while he was on a day off and I was at work (I ended up with a huge cheeseburger that hit the spot nicely… me, spoiled, never!!).
So what have I been warming in my New Year detox? I hasten to add the detox from cinnamon scents is the only kind I’ll be doing, thank you very much.
So far we’ve had:
Sugar cookie: warm sweet blend of butter, sugar and creamy vanilla.
Himself loves this one but I’m not so sure. I like it for an hour or two but then need to change it as it’s very sweet and also makes me want biscuits! The beauty of Scentsy in action; pour the melted wax back in to the pack, wipe the warmer dish and pop in your next scent.
Vanilla suede: classic vanilla with rich amber and hints of sandalwood and spice – a subtly masculine fragrance.
This one is from the Scentsy Man collection and while it isn’t in your face girly and floral, it does remind me a bit of Coco Mademoiselle. It’s one of my favourites and was one of the first Scentsy fragrances I smelled so it always feels like having tea with an old friend – pleasant and comfortable and very highly recommended.
I have a few on my to try list so watch out for my thoughts on sugar (new this season) and cherry vanilla. I seem to have a bit of a vanilla fixation at the minute; probably because I’m at saturation point with all things chocolate!
If you fancy a non-festive fragrance, I’m putting a payday order in so just let me know what you want. Or if you aren’t sure, give me an idea of the scents you normally go for and we’ll work something out 🙂
Hello and Happy New Year!
I recently sent out my January newsletter from email@example.com. If you got it. what did you think of it?
If you’d like a copy just fill in the form below and I’ll send it on to you.
There’s a fantastic offer on in January where you can get double half price host rewards for a qualifying party! This can be a home or basket party, so let me know if you’d like to make a booking. I still have some spaces left 🙂
I’m sorry for my absence this week. It turns out it was a busy week! Busy having the ‘flu, busy looking after a man ‘flu victim, busy returning to work and remembering how to be a nurse, and busy studying. I’ve also decorated the house for Christmas, ordered our turkey and gone to see Hampton Court Palace decorated with pretty twinkly lights. We chose a chilly but dry evening to go and it was perfect. We came home feeling very festive!
I’ve submitted my final pre-Christmas order and it should be here tomorrow thanks to our fabulous customer service team. My Scentsy commission this month will be paying for my Christmas shopping – I can’t wait to get it started! I have lists but who knows how off piste I’ll go when confronted with lots of goodies!
My fragrances this week have been Frosted ginger cookie (chewy brown sugar cookie spiked with warming ginger and fragrant vanilla) and Boho (clove-studded winter apples entwined with juicy black plums, candied mulberries, and cinnamon sticks).
Two of my festive favourites! What have you been warming?
This week has been a bit crazy, but in a good way! I did a Scentsy stall at two local school fairs on Friday and Saturday and had a brilliant time. It was lovely to meet lots of new people and to see how much interest there is in Scentsy out there. Incidentally, if you’ve ended up here because of the info pack or a business card, say hi in the comments below!
As a result, I’m curled up in fluffy pyjamas with a cup of tea sending lots of catalogues and newsletters to lovely folk who liked the sound (or smell!) of Scentsy. I’m also tired, but in a very good way, and have a supply of cupcakes to keep me going. Thanks St Paul’s! Both schools were fabulous hosts, keeping me well supplied with hot drinks and tasty bits. The bacon sandwich this morning was very much appreciated!
I needed something quick and easy after last night, and still had a handful of stuffing to use up from my roast dinner so I came up with a twist on stuffed bacon rolls. I’ve had these lots of times back at home but have never seen them over here… do they exist and I’ve just been missing them?
You will need:
2-3 bacon rashers per person (your choice of smoked or unsmoked)
a few tablespoons of boiled water – start off small!
1 teaspoon of cranberry sauce per rasher – optional
The basic idea is to take the bacon and lie each rasher out flat on a sheet of foil, stir a bit of boiled water into your left over stuffing (enough to enable you to mould it, but not so much that you have stuffing soup) and put a handful of the stuffing mixture into the middle of each rasher, rolling the bacon around it and baking in a medium oven until the bacon has cooked. it took me about 20-25 minutes.
For the twist, I added a teaspoonful of cranberry sauce to each rasher and spread it out before adding the stuffing and rolling. It was gorgeous! I served the rolls with rosemary and black pepper potato wedges and coleslaw with some peppered sauce on the side. Yum!
The last official date Scentsy advise ordering if you want delivery before Christmas is the 14th of December. Those of you who know me know I’m not a fan of cutting anything too fine, so my last order will be going in on the evening of the 10th of December. You can of course feel free ordering until whichever date you fancy but that would be through my website with your card as opposed to our usual format of letting me know and transferring they payment to me.
So, for the order on the 10th I’d like to make it a wee bit special and have some fun with it so I’m going to try out a Facebook party! If any of you who fancy joining just add yourself to the event here and the day before I’ll send out an invite to a secret Facebook group. It’s strictly invitation only for the party, but I promise it’ll be worth it!
If you aren’t interested in joining the party but want to order, it’s not a problem; let me know what I can get for you and I’ll put it all through together.
If anyone needs a catalogue just fill out the form below 🙂
The gallery collection is a bit special – decide between the classic cream or cube ebony warmer and then pick your frames(s!).
As well as the frame in the classic cream picture I have tendrils, brilliance, shine and brass blossom because I’m indecisive and couldn’t pick just one. Thankfully the frames are only £7.75 each! I think the brilliance, sparkle, dazzle and shine frames suit the cube ebony warmer more so than the classic cream because the funky modern patterns work well with the sleeker lines of ebony. The more vintage style frames are beautiful with classic cream but feel free to mix and match to your heart’s content.
The light these warmers give off is fantastic, they can be used as mood lighting or a night-light and the variety of frames means you’ll never get bored. The frames are magnetic and click on to the front of the warmer. They are very easy to put on and take off so there’s minimal faffing when you fancy a change.
The snapshot frames are designed to hold a photo which makes these warmers the perfect wedding or anniversary gift, or simply for yourself to display your favourite picture.
I tend to encourage folk who have difficulty deciding on a warmer to go for these as you can change the look completely without splashing out on a new warmer.
Which would you choose?
